Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Center
The Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Center in Kim’s Eye Hospital offers comprehensive diagnostic services and specialized treatments in the subspecialty fields of strabismus, pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, and low vision since 1987 when Dr. Sang Mook Kong started clinic specialized in strabismus.
The strabismus service specializes in the diagnosis and management of intermittent exotropia, the most common type of strabismus in Korea, as well as various types of convergent strabismus, paralytic strabismus, and other complicated strabismus. The pediatric ophthalmology service provides appropriate care for refractive errors with or without amblyopia in children considering their special needs. The neuro-ophthalmology subspecialty handles conditions related to eye movement disorders and disorders involving the optic nerve and visual pathway. Lastly, the low vision service is the rehabilitation step in ophthalmology field, and helps patients with impaired vision improve their visual function to maximize their quality of life.
This center is well known for its expertise in diagnosing and treating the complicated cases in strabismus, pediatric ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology, and the staffs are actively engaged in the research as well. Our specialists see more than 15,000 patients and perform strabismus surgeries approaching 700~800 cases every year.
